Thomas Paul Emerson is a retired meditation instructor, clinical hypnotherapist, astrologer, and award-winning author. Born in Southern California and a devote Christian since childhood; in the 70's he found himself fascinated by the teachings of Ramakrishna, Krishnamurti, and Ram Dass. He used to go to Ojai California to see Krishnamurti, whom he considered his guru. His first book "The Yoga Sutras for a 21st Century," he wrote as a guidebook for a weekly meditation group that he started in 1997. Emerson wrote four more books, the latest of which is "Song of the Lord," won a Gold Medal from the Independent Publishers Association in 2013, and was a finalist in the "2014 USA Best Book Awards." He is currently a member of the International Association of Clinical Hypnotherapy, for which he has served as vice president, and he was also a member of the International Medical & Dental Hypnotherapy Association, and the National Society of Hypnotherapists.

Thomas' books are both insightful and very illuminating, and in a straight-forward way he talks about religion, science, and spirituality; pointing out the common ground between them. In his books he explores the different religious teachings from both the eastern and western traditions. He explains that all the different religions of the world teach the same basic spiritual truths—that we should love others, be kind, honest, and forgive others. He shows that the true essence of the scriptures in one part of the world is the same in another, and that the principals of love, kindness, and compassion are the same no matter where you go. All the different scriptures of the world agree on this; that we are all children of God no matter where we live, the color of our skin, or what language we speak.
